Conversion to the Christian faith is a momentous event in a person’s life, but it is only the beginning of a journey. Local church membership and effective discipleship are two essential elements for nurturing, strengthening and guiding new believers in their walk with Christ. Biblically understood and practiced, they are vital tools for building a vibrant and committed community of faith.
Membership in a local church is not simply a formal registration, but a deliberate commitment to be part of a community of believers who support, encourage and challenge each other to grow in their faith. It is a recognition that the Christian life is not designed to be lived in isolation, but in community.
The Baptist Church “Torch of Salvation” has been discipling a group of new believers who have professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. They have been instructed on basic doctrines of the faith, spiritual disciplines and ecclesiology so that they can have a better understanding of God and His glorious gospel, which will result in a daily walk in obedience to the Lord.
