Expository preaching workshop at ¨Antorcha de Salvación¨ Baptist Church.

From June 18 to 20, an expository biblical preaching workshop was held at the “Antorcha de Salvación” Baptist Church. Baptist Church “Antorcha de Salvación” in Sancti Spíritus, Cuba. of Sancti Spíritus, Cuba. These workshops, developed by the ministry Faithful PreachingThe objective of these workshops is to train pastors and teachers in the handling of the Scriptures.

Expository Bible preaching is an approach to communicating the biblical message that focuses on interpreting, explaining and applying the original meaning of the sacred text to the current context of the audience. Rather than simply citing verses to support a preconceived idea, expository biblical preaching diligently seeks to understand the message the author intended to communicate and then to convey that message with fidelity and relevance.

In essence, expository biblical preaching considers the biblical text itself to be the primary authority, and the preacher acts as a servant, not an owner, of that text. The objective is not to impose one’s own ideas on the Bible, but to allow the Bible to speak for itself.

With this in mind, we seek to analyze the text in its circumstantial, cultural, literary and biblical context in order to understand its intended meaning. In addition, the author’s intention and the main meaning of the passage are determined, considering the totality of Scripture and avoiding interpretation out of context. Finally, we seek to connect the meaning of the text to the gospel of Christ and to the daily life of the audience, showing how the biblical truth applies to their lives as believers of the Lord.
We thank our Lord Jesus Christ for the opportunity to share with brethren who diligently seek to be faithful to the word of our Lord, as well as to “Prédica Fiel” (Faithful Preaching) for all their effort and love for all the brethren.
