The Second Baptist Church of Yaguajay, which serves the \u00c1frica neighborhood, reported significant progress in its community outreach following the implementation of a benevolence ministry that combined food assistance with the preaching of the Gospel. The initiative reached 61 vulnerable individuals in the area, 22 of whom accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pastor Yhosvanni Cruz led a group of congregational leaders and members who actively ministered through the Word. \u201cWe were blessed to be used by this benevolence ministry to deliver\u2014in a coordinated effort\u2014both food and spiritual aid to vulnerable people in our community,\u201d<\/strong> the pastor stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The impact of this work has been remarkable, according to Cruz, who emphasized that \u201cit made a profound impact that a group of leaders and members from our church ministered to them using the Word.\u201d The church, which follows the Reformed tradition, grounds its social action in the Scriptures, which call believers to care for the needy and proclaim the Gospel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As it is written in James 1:27: \u201cPure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.\u201d<\/strong> Likewise, the Apostle Paul reminded believers in Acts 20:35: \u201cIn everything I have shown you that, by working hard in this way, we must help the needy, and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, who said: \u2018It is more blessed to give than to receive.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The community\u2019s response also reflects the words found in Romans 10:14: \u201cHow, then, can they call on the one in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach to them?\u201d<\/strong> The Second Baptist Church of Yaguajay reaffirms its commitment to continue these endeavors, grounded in the Reformed conviction that faith without works is dead (James 2:17) and that mercy and truth go hand in hand (Psalm 85:10).
