Just three kilometers from the town center of Quemado de Güines, Villa Clara, Cuba, the small “batey” known as Panchito has become the third location where Antorcha Ministry has made it possible to purchase a property for worship and for the gathering of the brethren.
In this rural community, approximately 15 believers gather regularly, guided by missionaries Lázaro Pérez and Eneisy León, who lead the ministry work in that locality.
“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20). That verse comes to life every week in Panchito, where the simplicity of the “batey” has not been an obstacle to the growth of the flame of faith.
The property acquisition process—made possible through the efforts of Antorcha Ministry—represents a source of relief and a blessing for a congregation that previously relied on borrowed spaces or meetings held in private homes, often under restrictive conditions.
“Jehovah will provide” (Genesis 22:14); this truth has been confirmed by the believers in Panchito, who now have a permanent place to pray, study the Word, and strengthen the bonds of Christian love.
Thanksgiving:
Let us give thanks to God for the lives and dedication of missionaries Lázaro Pérez and Eneisy León, who, with patience and love, shepherd this small flock amidst the hardships of the Villa Clara countryside.
Let us give thanks for each of the 15 believers who, despite their meager resources, keep worship alive in Panchito, demonstrating that the Church is not a building, but rather the faithful people who gather in His name.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58). Thank You, Lord, for this third location—for Panchito, for the missionaries, and for every sister and brother who, in the humble setting of the *batey*, lifts their hands in worship.
May Antorcha Ministry continue to be an instrument of blessing, and may Villa Clara continue to witness the Gospel taking root even in the most remote corners. Amen.
With gratitude, TOSI International / “Antorcha de Salvación” Baptist Church.
