This past weekend, the community of Tuinucú in Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, hosted a day of evangelism that brought together believers from various locations. The event, led by missionary Yosmani, received valuable support from the Torch of Salvation Baptist Church in the city of Sancti Spíritus, which sent a group of members to join in proclaiming the gospel. The main objective was to share a message of hope and faith. Inspired by Jesus’ command to his disciples, the participants embraced the words of the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 28, verses 19 and 20: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
Fraternal Support from the “Torch”
One of the most significant aspects of this day was the response from the Torch of Salvation Baptist Church. Responding to the call for collaboration, a group of its members traveled from the provincial capital to support missionary Yosmani in preaching the gospel. This practical brotherhood reflects the spirit of unity and cooperation that characterizes many congregations in the central part of the island.
“It has been an enormous joy to be here and serve,” expressed one of the members of the “Torch of Salvation.” “We felt the support of our church in Sancti Spíritus, which encouraged us to come and strengthen this work. It is the fulfillment of what we read in the book of Acts, chapter 1, verse 8: ‘…and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’ Today, Tuinucú is part of our Judea.”
But the mission not only impacted the community, but also the believers themselves who participated. During the days of evangelistic work, the brothers and sisters were edified by sharing the experience together. Those with more years on the path of faith had the opportunity to guide and accompany those with less experience in the task of sharing the gospel. This exchange, far from being a simple teaching session, became a mutual growth, where everyone learned to depend more on God and trust in His guidance.
The presence of Torch of Salvation Baptist Church, known for its purpose of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ in central Cuba, leaves a mark of love and Christian solidarity in this historic town in Sancti Spíritus province.
