In a vibrant display of the gospel in action, the Baptist Church of Tuinucú, Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, hosted a comprehensive health day this past weekend, organized in conjunction with the Medical Fellowship.
What began as a morning of clinical consultations transformed into a space of hope, where physical well-being and the preaching of the gospel went hand in hand.
From early morning, dozens of people arrived at the church to receive medical consultations, preventative guidance, and, above all, warm and humane treatment. By the end of the event, 86 patients had been seen, receiving not only diagnoses and support, but also medications generously shared by the volunteer professionals.
But the day went beyond mere medical assistance. In every consultation, every wait, and every medication distribution, the brothers of the Medical Fellowship took the opportunity to share the message of salvation.
The motto guiding this initiative—”Preaching and healing go hand in hand”—took on its full meaning, recalling the Lord’s words when he sent his disciples: “Heal the sick, cleanse those who have leprosy; freely give what you have freely received” (Matthew 10:8). The day echoed that commission, where faith became service and medicine was clothed in love.
Those present expressed their gratitude not only for the medical care but also for the atmosphere of prayer and hope that permeated every corner of the church.
The organizers are already planning new dates to continue expanding this model of holistic mission, convinced that physical health is an open door to spiritual health. Because when we preach by example and heal with our hearts, the Kingdom becomes present in every corner of Tuinucú.
“Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness” (Matthew 9:35). Thus, with their eyes fixed on the Master, these brothers continue his work, demonstrating that God’s love never comes empty: it always brings healing and life.
With gratitude, TOSI International / “Antorcha de Salvación” Baptist Church.
