As part of the spiritual preparation for the united evangelistic campaign “A Hope for Our Generation”, nearly 100 believers representing eight of the nine participating churches gathered on Saturday, August 29, at Belle View Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia, near Washington, D.C., for a United Day of Fasting and Prayer.
From 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., pastors, leaders, and church members from different congregations spent nine hours in prayer, worship, preaching, intercession, and seeking God together.
The gathering was marked by a deep sense of unity, brokenness, and consecration. Many participants expressed that they experienced the presence of God in a special way as the churches joined with one heart and one prayer:
Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years.
This gathering was part of the preparation for A Hope for Our Generation, a united evangelistic campaign designed to mobilize participating churches to share the Gospel and reach families and communities throughout the Washington metropolitan area.
Organizers emphasized that prayer is at the heart of the campaign’s preparation, with the conviction that before expecting a great spiritual harvest, the Church must seek God, walk in unity, and depend on the power of the Holy Spirit.
The day concluded with gratitude for every pastor, leader, church, and believer who participated, along with a renewed sense of expectation for what God may do in the weeks ahead.
