By the grace of God, last Saturday some members of the “Antorcha de Salvación” Baptist Church held a time of evangelism in one of the neighborhoods of the city of Sancti Spíritus, in central Cuba, known as “Camino de las Cañas.”
Evangelism is a fundamental practice in the Christian faith, whose main objective is the message of salvation through Jesus Christ to all peoples and nations. This commitment is a clear and direct instruction from Jesus himself, who before ascending to heaven, left the great commission to his disciples: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).
Evangelism is not only a pastoral activity carried out by religious leaders, but is a responsibility shared by all believers. Every Christian, as a follower of Jesus, has the mission to be a witness of faith, spreading the word of the cross and resurrection to those who have not yet heard or understood the message of salvation.
In a world increasingly sinful and distant from God, the preaching of the gospel of Christ is vitally important, so that every creature may recognize their condition of perdition and death because of their sin and run to the feet of our glorious Lord seeking his grace and salvation through his perfect redemptive work. Let us continue praying to our good God to fill us with courage and boldness and allow us to continue preaching his gospel.
