This week, in obedience to the Lord’s call and as part of a relief tour led by Torch of Salvation among churches in eastern Cuba affected by the recent Hurricane Melissa, we had the deep joy and privilege of visiting our brothers and sisters in the town of Cueto, in the province of Holguín, together with their beloved pastor, Ernesto.
With moved hearts, we arrived in a community severely impacted by the storm, bringing the assistance that the Lord made possible through His people. This support allowed for the distribution of food packages on two separate occasions, reaching between 80 and 100 people, including both members of the congregation and individuals from the surrounding community facing urgent needs.
The same donation—a tangible expression of God’s grace faithfully stewarded by His people—also made possible the repair of damaged roofs, the delivery of mattresses, and a meaningful contribution toward improving living conditions for our brothers and sisters, accompanying them with care and hope in the process of recovery after a disaster of such serious consequences.
Each action carried out seeks to be a visible testimony of God’s sovereign love and of the practical power of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ—a faith that does not remain in words alone, but is expressed through deeds for His glory.
From the depths of our hearts, we extend our gratitude to every donor and volunteer, faithful instruments in the hands of Providence who made this outreach possible. Let us continue, as the body of Christ, to extend the hope of the Gospel and our hands in solidarity, confident that our labor in the Lord is not in vain.
