A total of 32 missionaries in Cifuentes, Villa Clara, Cuba, supported by 9 local churches and distributed across 18 mission fields, have made a commitment that extends to 2035.
This team has set out to plant 7 new churches in the northern corridor of Villa Clara and reach every town along the route from Cifuentes to Corralillo, with their sights set, if conditions permit, on the communities of the neighboring province of Matanzas.
The project, which involves 9 churches and 18 mission fields, seeks to plant 7 new churches and bring the Christian message to the most isolated villages of Matanzas, overcoming geographical barriers.
Pastor Ángel Daniel, the brother in charge of coordinating this work, along with the 32 missionaries, are focused on extending the kingdom of God and serving tirelessly in God’s work to bring the gospel to these much-needed areas.
The initiative is based on the mandate of Matthew 28:19-20, which calls us to “go and make disciples of all nations.” Mindful of this commission, the team has embraced the challenge. Let us pray for their needs and that our God will fill them with wisdom and grace to share the gospel.
Covering the corridor from Cifuentes to Corralillo, and eventually crossing the border into Matanzas, presents a considerable logistical challenge. With 32 missionaries, the team will have to balance attending to established congregations with planting new ones. The decision to focus efforts on the intermediate sections and the most densely populated towns is based on a principle of sustainability: it is not about multiplying structures without support, but about ensuring that each new preaching point has the necessary spiritual and pastoral accompaniment.
The focus on Matanzas is not a whim, but a conviction based on geographical proximity and the historical lack of evangelical outreach in those communities. Pastor Ángel Daniel and his team are aware that crossing that border will involve overcoming natural obstacles, but they also trust that the same Lord who calls them to work will provide the means to reach those who currently lack access to the message.
With nine years ahead and a provincial border as their goal, Mission 2035 is already underway. The 32 missionaries, the nine churches, and the 18 outreach programs have a clear direction: to move from Cifuentes toward Corralillo, and when the Lord opens the door, to extend their hand to the towns in Matanzas that cry out today without having a ministry nearby.
With gratitude, TOSI International / “Antorcha de Salvación” Baptist Church.
